Text 4 Mar Web Developers win VS Microsoft

IE8 will render properly, “We’ve decided that IE8 will, by default, interpret web content in the most standards compliant way it can.” said Internet Explorer general manager Dean Hachamovitch, El Reg reports.

I had recently read at A List Apart that IE8 would require a proprierty tag to do this and would follow IE7 by default (which I guess would be betterĀ  better than following IE6 but hey). I was aghast, why do MS think that doing things differently will win them fans? It looks like tons of negative feedback and possible legal issues won the day.

So good news, I’m a lot happier with IE7 than I thought and I still dread doing IE6 fixes but still want some of those missing bits and pieces that IE7 just doesn’t give you that FireFox and Opera do.

All I want now is for the adoption of HTML 5 as standard to become possible, I am putting my money on 2015 for that.
