Firstly, sorry if this isn’t my most eloquent posting; I’m currently suffering from blocked sinuses and my head feels like its about to explode :(
I have been thinking about what I call ‘the big swish’, information that swashes round the net from place to place, finding different audiences using different forms as it goes.
Heres a few good examples:
And three much more basic and less pretty examples using my own blog:
They share something in common, they all take information from one place and present them in another way, in my case, to three different audiences, one of which is target at a certain search engine, one for a human audience, and one mainly for my own personal use. This is exactly what RSS is meant for, and many sites are using just that, so what is so clever about that?
It’s all about getting your content out there in the big swish, if you have a message to spread then RSS feeds and clever use of site’s APIs, such as twittervision’s use of both the Google API and the Twitter to create an elegant mash-up, can get that message far more reach than a lonely disconnected blog or website, the ‘content push’ has finally come of age!
I am currently developing a ‘swish tool’ as there is something I wish to do but nobody does it well enough. It will be a while before it reaches beta but keep an eye out ;)
And dive into the big swish!
